Yes, Monday 19th September 2022 has been officially delcared as a Bank Holiday for the Queen’s funeral.

King Charles III signed off the order at his ceremony held in Lond proclaiming him monarch.

Prince, now King Charles will be known as King Charles III.

He could decide upon Queen Elizabeth II’s death, what he would like to be known as.

Whils the government announced that the bank holiday should be treated like any other holiday, it is up to the employers to let their staff have the day off.

This means that there is no statutory entitlement for time off for bank holidays.

But some employers include bank holidays as part of an employees holiday entitlement.

The bank holiday for the Queen’s funeral will include England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Yes, schools will close for the bank holiday. The government said it was not “asking them to remain open on the day of the bank holiday”
